Genesis
I don't think I'll do anything to put this blog 'out there'. So if you're here, it's by your own volition, not mine. You are probably aware of my 'professional' blog at https://revise2.blogspot.com/ or my more experimental one at http://revise2.com/church/blog. I want this one to exist between the two. Maybe this will replace http://revise2.com/church/blog, but I really do not know.I honestly felt compelled to make this for two reasons, one reason I'll talk about later, but the other was these two blogspot blogs I've found myself reading lately: JGC and diamondgeezer. Both of them are also British, by coincidence. Something about John Graham-Cumming (which I think I'll never get over) is that the bio on his website links to his Wikipedia page. How cool is that?
Journals?
This isn't a Journal per se. I want it to exist as a permanent record of my thoughts, and public one.
The other reason I was talking about earlier, and which might help explain the name, is that I read the introduction to East of Eden. I don't typically read introductions, but I figured that the book is so long, I lose nothing by reading the introduction, and also, it's Steinbeck. He deserves to have his introduction read. Anyway, the introduction talks about Journal of a Novel. Which is "a letter collection written by the American author John Steinbeck to his friend and editor Pascal Covici, in parallel with the first draft of his longest novel, East of Eden." It basically goes through what he's thinking about whilst writing, and casts a "flood of light on the creative process".
The astute observers amongst you might have noticed that this is Journals not 'Journal of a Novel' or 'Journal of a something else', which might have been a more obvious homage. I think it's too wordy to call it either of those options, and Journals is shorter, and simpler. It probably came to me because of Justin Bieber's album. I've been looking into him a lot more, especially vis a vis his Actavis situation.
Little but often
I don't know why I titled this subheading that. I plan to do the exact opposite of this. If you do know the other blog at http://revise2.com/church/blog, you'll know that I don't really post anything substantial often. There are a few good posts worth looking at, like the collection of websites, but I find it hard to stick to something like this. I'll probably post very often on this for a month or so, and then it'll go dormant.
I also don't really want to post too much, anyway. I like JGC and diamondgeezer, but there's no way I'm reading all those posts. I want you to read all my posts.
